Exhumed and reburied in metallic coffin

By Atok Dan

You are dead,
Gone you are with the rest of the unsung heroes and heroines
No longer in a hateful arena
You came once and have gone once
Could your soul still linger in space?
No one could tell
Only nature

Were you alive, life was sweet
Life was bitter
They killed you
Buried you and sat with word of a job well done
They hated you most
Without you, they eat, drink and laugh in appreciation of a job well done
Dearly did they pay to terminate you?
Like a bar of gold on the Gold Coast
Like a diamond in Kimberly
Like a first-world presidential jet

In your metallic coffin
Rest not restless
For they too are restless without you
Killed in the battle, the better
Lynched in scornful diplomacy, the better
 Buried without a coffin,
Exhumed and reburied in a metallic coffin

Killed by your nocturnal brother
Killed by your one-time boot licker
Death is none a punishment
For it is never a curse
It is a mission ended

For years will never come without you seeing them
For it is a compulsory journey
For a man worth not living if he has not gotten what he will die for
You were an enigmatic figure
You were valor but your assassins killed you as a villain
For your death never redeemed millions of dollars looted
